A R.A.F.T. of Executive Orders

Instructions: As the President is typically one of, if not the most, publicly seen people in our country and everything they do is publicized and critiqued. One of the actions that the President may do that is typically very controversial is the Executive Orders they may enact. Being an enforceable law that needs no congressional approval, this is often met with resistance and debate. Since the very first Executive Order of George Washington’s “Day of National Thanksgiving” Proclamation, over 15,000 have been issued. This has allowed for many different reactions from many different people across the country. To this end, you will be taking up the role of one of these people after choosing a historic Executive Order to provide an explanation into how people thought about this order around the time it was signed. This will be done by your own creativity as it pertains to the R.A.F.T. shown below:

Once you have determined which one from each column you would like to focus on, you are to create a Google Doc with your writings for the Journal Entry or a Script for the News Broadcast, Speech, and Dinner Conversation. If you choose one of the last three format options, you may choose to instead create a video depicting the format explained but a Google Doc script is also acceptable.
